AVANTIA INSURANCE LIMITED MODERN SLAVERY STATEMENT

For the year ended 31 December 2024

1.0 Overview

At Avantia Insurance Limited trading as Homeprotect (“Homeprotect”) we are committed to identifying and eliminating any modern slavery in our own supply chain and in organisations that we work with around the globe.

This statement made pursuant to the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (“the Act”) for the financial year, ending 31 December 2024. It outlines the actions taken by Homeprotect, to identify, prevent and address modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chain. The statement was approved by the Board of Directors of Avantia Insurance Limited on 16 December 2025.

2.0 Our business

Homeprotect is a UK-based home insurance provider with around 135 employees, all based in the UK. We conduct our business fairly, ethically and with respect for human rights and we are committed to the prevention of all forms of modern slavery in our operations and supply chains.

3.0 Our approach

We recognise that slavery, forced labour, servitude, and human trafficking are types of ‘Modern Slavery’ – serious crimes that deprive victims of their liberty and exploit them financially or otherwise. We are committed to a zero-tolerance approach to such practices. This applies to all employees, directors, officers, agency and seconded workers, volunteers, interns, agents, contractors, external consultants, third-party representatives, business partners and suppliers.

3.1 Preventing Modern Slavery in our business

We are committed to eliminating all forms of modern slavery within the business and within our supply chain. This is evidenced by the supply chain due diligence processes and approach with onboarding suppliers and contractors, alongside ongoing review, monitoring and updates in line with the Act.

To prevent Modern Slavery the following procedures are in place.

New supplier and ongoing due diligence

Our supply chain is primarily UK-based and consists of providers of technology platforms, claims handling and investigation services, professional services (including legal, audit, IT and consultancy, facilities management and office services, marketing agencies and training providers. We do not manufacture goods or engage directly in sectors traditionally associated with higher Modern Slavery risks, such as agriculture, textiles or construction. Nevertheless, we recognise that risks can arise indirectly.

When onboarding a new supplier, we follow a structured process that includes compliance checks and the review of relevant policy documents to ensure alignment with our zero-tolerance approach to Modern Slavery. We also take a risk-based approach to assessing suppliers, considering factors such as the geography in which they operate, the sector they work and the nature of the goods or services provided and the scale or strategic importance of the relationship. Where high-risk indicators are identified, enhanced due diligence is applied before engagement throughout the life of the contract. This ensures our supply chain oversight is proportionate to the level of potential exposure.

As part of our ongoing review, we are implementing a Third-Party Risk Management (“TPRM”) which includes a risk-based approach to the ongoing oversight and validation/ revalidation of supplier relationships and contracts.

Our zero-tolerance approach to Modern Slavery is communicated to all suppliers, contractors and business partners at the outset of our business relationship with them and reinforced as appropriate thereafter.

Employee treatment

We carry out appropriate checks on all employees, recruitment agencies and suppliers, so that we know who is working for us or on our behalf.

We give every employee a written employment contract, and he or she is paid in accordance with the law of England and Wales. We comply with our legal obligations to ensure the health and safety of all of our employees and workers, including in relation to working hours, rest breaks and holidays.

Employee training

As part of our employee induction process, all employees complete training that includes awareness of modern slavery and human trafficking through The Academy, our online training platform. In addition, every employee is required to read this statement and confirm their understanding of its contents. Employees within our supply chain team will receive annual training.

All training is mandatory and refreshed on a regular basis.

Policies

We have in place additional policies and procedures which, combined with those referenced earlier, seek to further reduce the risk of modern slavery in our business.

These policies and procedures include but are not limited to:

  • Incident Reporting
  • Risk Management
  • Regulatory Reporting
  • Business Ethics
  • Vulnerable Customer
  • Anti-Money Laundering

All processes and policies are reviewed annually and updated to take into account new and changing risks and regulations which will be provided using established methods of communication. Board is responsible for signing off the Modern Slavery statement annually.

Looking ahead

We will continue to review our processes, policies and training to ensure we are preventing Modern Slavery across our business and our supply chain while also looking for new ways to protect against Modern Slavery and expanding our training programme.
